I've been already familiar with his works, but I haven't read the story so far. In particular I'm always absorbed with mysterious stories and Gothic atmosphere, that's why all the stories by E.A.Poe are to my taste. I've just looked through the story as I havent't enough time yet to to analyze it thoroughly.
A thrilling one) It has much in common both with "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Tell-Tale Heart" (which I've chosen for the stylistic analysis). Taking into consideration the former one, I should point out the fact that Poe was in habit of entombing his characters walling them up) don't now why
don't mind) as for Poe, he was not a diligent person at all)) hard drinking, deep depression, absence of work are all reflected in his writings. many episodes are based on the real life stories (hope, it doesn't concern walling people up)), but who would have done it if not him? someone should have started) but this, so is to say, leitmotif of such a way of killing people leaves a space to think it over)
Hard drinking was a real inspiration for a number of creative people.. .there are even more harmful things that can lead to unexpected and thrilling plots of real masterpieces, imagination must be stimulated somehow, it's up to each person how to exactly. But I think a person should have a really strong spirit to reveal the darkest sides of human life... or, at least, sick imagination) But it shouldn't be the main focus of our investigation
Why have you chosen this story? Have you read it already? Do you like E.Poe's style? If you haven't read the story, what are your expectations?
